Property is a common term for all rental units that you create in BookingStudio, e.g. cottage, holiday home, holiday apartment and more. This guide will help you create the basic data for a property.
When the basic data are saved, several menu items will appear in the menu bar.
Handling these menu items is described in other articles, which are linked to at the end of this article.
Here you start
Go to Administration -> Properties. Click on “Create property”.
Fill in the Master data
The display of the contents of the tabs in this guide may be slightly different in relation to your installation, as it is possible to select other standard fields.
The Master data & Setup data must be filled before you can click on “Save”.
Fill in these 8 fields as a minimum on the Master data tab:
- Creditor – Select the property owner from the list.
- Internal name – To make it easy, we recommend that the same name/number is used here as for the creditor (if the creditor only has one property) – e.g. BS10023.
- Name – this may be a repetition of the internal name.
Sorting Index – it is not necessary to fill in this field, but it can be used to determine the order in which the properties are to be displayed. Write a number here. The lowest number will be displayed first. Properties with the same value for “Sort Index” are automatically sorted alphabetically.
Maximum number of persons – Click at the field and write a number.
You will see a period in connection with this field when entering the number.
If the period is not filled in, then the maximum number of people in the property always applies.
You can time control the number of people if there may later be more / fewer people in the property.
The number of people is assessed at the time of booking and is assessed based on the date of arrival. - Location – here you can choose between your created locations.
Only select a location with 3 dots in front.
Here an example:
Property type – this field is filled in automatically and cannot be changed.
Key status – can be used but is not necessary. It is for internal information.
Here you can choose between: “Bureau is missing key”, “Bureau has keys” or “Ready for guests”. - Rental terms – here you can choose between your created rental conditions.
- Address 1 – this is the address of the property.
- Postal code – fill out.
City – fill out.
Country – fill out.
Internal comment – here is space to write an internal comment.
Key address – choose between your created key addresses
(this is info on where the key for the property can be picked up).
Map and coordinates
The address of the property was entered earlier and is now displayed below the map.
Click on the “Find” button and the location of the property will be shown on the map.
You can move the location on the map with the mouse, if it isn’t placed correctly.
Finish by clicking “Apply”.
Now go to the next tab “Setup data”.
Only press Save when the next tab is filled.
